Chinese New Year in Eunos Primary School

Hi, our members for Pussy Gaga group are Raufiqah and Sarah.

How do we celebrate for Chinese New Year? Well, first we were told that we are going to have a Chinese New Year tree-making competion. So we were all excited and our teacher asked us to bring some recycled
materials.

So on the second day of the Chinese New Year, we started our tree-making competion. First our friend
Shenzhu and Zhijun helped us to make the tree steady by rolling newspapers into sticks. Then we started thinking of how we could make our tree nice. So my friend and I started brainstorming and then got an idea. I told my teacher that maybe we could roll small newspapers into oranges. Then my teacher said that it was a good idea but we haven't got enough newspapers and red packets (ang pow in chinese).

So I went to my neighbour class 5/6 to ask if they have any red packets or any leftover newspapers.  Mrs Goh, the teacher in class 5/6 said, "Hmm..let me see if I have any."

Then she opened the drawer and found some red packets and leftover nespapers..I took it and thanked her. Then we started hanging red packets and after a few days our Chinese New Year tree. Eventually, my class got the second prize for the competition.

We were all so happy! That's my experience for Chinese New Year in 2010.
